Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
While working for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, my primary strategic focus was the centralization and optimization of statewide hiring tactics. The goal was to establish a unified and compelling employment brand to attract high-quality candidates across all agencies.
My role centered on three key pillars: social media strategy, employer branding through graphic design, and the planning and execution of recruitment events.
Digital Recruitment Platform: I recognized the need to streamline the candidate experience. While individual agencies had their own social media accounts, I developed and managed a dedicated online platform specifically focused on promoting job opportunities, making it far easier for candidates to find job-specific postings and simplifying the application journey.
Brand & Content Governance: I handled the graphic design process, from creating a detailed content calendar for organizational consistency to the development and production of all visual assets. This included everything from creating engaging holiday graphics and specific designs for open positions to developing imagery for our initial postings on new sites, ensuring consistency with the new Commonwealth employment brand standards.
One of the projects that I worked on was a Hiring Manager Toolkit. This toolkit was to be used as a standard for statewide hiring managers. It houses all of the frequently asked questions, hiring tactics, language for selling points, and more.
When it comes to social media, there are multiple different ways you can use every platform. One idea that I had for our Instagram account was having a story highlight that described the process of how candidates should apply. Since their process is a little more complicated than other employers, we made tutorials for applying. I turned our tutorials into Instagram stories to make the information clearer.
